I just recently spent some time using the new SEOMoz tool LinkScape. LinkScape is a SEO tool that allows you to view the linking structure of the internet. Pretty cool. It shows you good links vs. bad links, and enables you to make marketing decisions based off of the effectiveness of a particular link or links. I have to admit, I am very impressed.

According to their blog, SEOMoz raised over a million dollars in late 2007 and brought on 7+ brainiac engineers to build this tool! It looks very promising and you should definitely check it out if you own a web site or if you are a SEO guru, http://www.seomoz.org/linkscape.

Finding this new tool sparked my interest, so I started researching the SEO space for similar tools. What I found was shocking…not only did I find something equivalent, but I found something that was in an entirely different league of its own. I came across a new search engine (yes, I said search engine) that was created back in 2006 called SEOENG. A search engine that helps you to optimize a web site for a search engine (why hasn’t anyone else done this?). SEOENG’s claim to fame is their “Search Engine Optimization Engine”, which allows you to interact with your web site from a search engine’s point of view. This tiny company started out in 2006 as a SEO business, and they essentially built a search engine to support and cultivate their own clients SEO data, which they found was missing from the industry. That wasn’t even the interesting part though. After talking with a few SEO friends, I found out that SEOENG has been purposely keeping VERY QUIET about their product, so as to not draw any attention from its competitors. No wonder I haven’t heard of them … instead of taking the conventional startup route of marketing, marketing, and more marketing (especially in this Industry), they have apparently spent all their resources on design, development, and IP protection. They are quietly building an army of “Certified Professionals” (read “sales team”), and have been selling a private label to SEOs for months now. 7. Flaunt your URL in webmaster forums. Webmasters usually have the toolbar installed. You’ll get webmasters to visit your website and offer useful feedback. It’s also a good way to give back to the community if you have useful articles to share with others. Be careful not to spam boards as you could be banned from the forum or worse have your site terminated by your host.

8. Write content that is related to webmasters. This can fall in the category of domaining and SEO, two fields in which most webmasters will have the Alexa toolbar installed. Promote your content on social networking websites and webmaster forums. Feel free to place the article on your website!

9. Use Alexa redirects on your website URL. Try this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.johndoro.com. Replace www.johndoro.com with the URL for your website. Leave this redirected URL in blog comments as well as forum signatures. This redirect will count a unique IP address once a day so clicking it multiple times won’t help. There is no official proof that redirects positively benefit your Alexa Rank, so use with caution.

10. Create a webmaster tools section on your website. This is a magnet for webmasters who will often revisit your website to gain access to the tools. Aaron Wall’s webpage on SEOTools is a very good example.

After major update on September and minor one on October, Google is updating Page Rank throughout this December. However I haven’t seen any changes in my blogs yet. Using some Page Rank checker tools are not helping either. According to my experience in the previous update, they were late for a couple of days. That’s why, I usually count on Google Toolbar which seems utilize last Data Center information.

I also notice changes in my incoming links that was displayed by Google using the “link:domain.com” command. The Google Cache in my SEO Quake Toolbar is also freezing at December 6th that according to some opinions might become the sign of incoming update.

Some people at Digital Forum have noticed changes in their Google Toolbar Page Rank recently. This time, the Page Rank seems run slowly. But there is a common believe that all process will be finished by the end of this month.
