Pagerank was UPDATED! I heard this for the first time in Digital Point Forum. You can read the threads here and here.

Yup, someone is going to be very happy. Another would yell at this unfair decision made by Google.

But, WAIT! Is it true that Google has updated its Pagerank?

To be honest, I’m not sure… Well, some people have been predicted for Pagerank Update around last July or August First. Recently, this rumor has made SEO practitioner, blogger and webmasters sleepless… :D

However, some people just quote Matt Cutts, Mr. Google himself, for this shocking news. Here is what he said in his blog on July 24, 2008 @ 4:26 pm

Hey folks, I wanted to let you know that new toolbar Pagerank values should become visible over the next few days. I’m expecting that also in the next few days that we’ll be expiring some older penalties on websites.

For you that who doesn’t know who Matt Cutts is, here is his brief profile in Wikipedia

Matt Cutts works for the quality group in Google, specializing in search engine optimization issues. He is well known in the SEO community for enforcing the Google Webmaster Guidelines and cracking down on link spam. Cutts also advised the public on how to get better website visibility in Google.

Again, I’m still not sure. I spend all night to verify this news. None can assure me…

I check my blog with several Pagerank checker and there is no change at all with its Pagerank. I check my friend’s blog and nothing happen. Here is Pagerank services I use:

The result would be different if I check with this tool which some people said has been update the Pagerank data from Google DataCenter
