At the end of 1990s, the first few blogs become visible on the web. No one ever predicted later blogging will become such a hit in the next few years.
Previously, not everyone can have a website. Blog answer the need for common people to enter the internet jungle. Blogs became a simple, user-friendly way for people to publish anything on the Net. Blogger, a blog writer and publisher, also able to update their blog regularly. By using blog, people start to publish their thoughts and views as well as provide information that is relevant to their readers. But, at the beginning, is not that simple though. However, these early blogs were dominated by people with a couple of Programming knowledge. Still, the publisher and audience of blog still narrow.
The year of 1999 would be a step stone to the progress of blog. Blogger, an easy to use online application made blogging accessible to anyone. Well, almost everyone. This user friendly technology has started to bring blog in another level. Next, Google take the advance even further when this biggest online company bought Blogger in 2003. Mr. Google just secured the future popularity of blogging as an online activity for millions of people. The number of blogs on the internet rise and blogging officially become an online phenomenon.
Blogging had arrived and arrived with a hit! There are no signs of this incredible trend slowing down. A new blog is created every second.
A search for “blog” on Google in May 2008 showed 3,550 million results.
Bloggers add more than 33,000 new blog posts every hour.
Other internet main player such as Yahoo, MSN and AOL are all joining Google Blogger in taking blogging to the masses.
The result of this “blog bang” is that everyone from billionaires to fulltime housewife can now have their own blog.
