Adding Image in Blog Post, Image Hosting vs. Own Server
I’ve been wondering all this time, which are the most efficient? Adding image in blog post by hosting it to a photo sharing services, or just place it in our own server
To my experience, each method has advantages and disadvantages.
I usually put my posting images on photo sharing services, with Flickr and PhotoBucket as two of my first choice. The latter, I use it more often recently since the uploading procedure is easier and faster.
However, I’ve been a little worried about that. What if Flickr and PhotoBucket decide to delete my album? Even worst, what if something happens and they lose user database? Hmm…it would be a lot of work to re-upload all my posting images.
As my friend, Arezt, determines that keep his files (images and videos) hosted in wp-content/uploads is a better choice. “They load faster and I don’t need to worry about them being deleted… “
“How if your server storage server is full”, I ask
“If I needed a bigger space, I just need to upgrade with my server. It’s easy and simple….” Arezt insist with his opinion.
Hmmm…I’m still not making my final decision. However, photo sharing services make my blog photos well-organized. But most importantly, it’s easy for me to share them with my friends and family.
