Compare to other blogging platforms, WordPress known as more SEO Friendly. This because as an open platform, WordPress community has built enormous plugin to help WordPress blogs indexed faster and higher on search engine crawlers. Another WordPress SEO Friendly Feature is its ability to ping to search engine every time WordPresser updated his/her blog contents by sending a XML-RPC ping
In turn, Update Services process the ping and updates their proprietary indices with the update. WordPress makes this easy for its user by listing Ping-O-Matic’s server (rpc.pingomatic.com) by default located on “Update Services” on the Options->Writing administration screen.
Manual configuration also available by removing the default and using WordPress compressed ping list. Other WordPress users prefer to use Ping-o-Matic which, with just one “ping” will let many other services know that the blog has been updated.
However, some people are still unsatisfied. They have tried to make a kind of pinging service list to maximize the ping process. One of them are Elliot C. Back who compiled 56 RPC and RPC2 Services to Ping. This ping list is a merging of Ensight list with his own list. Elliot also divided the list into two category; General and Special Ping Services. The latter are for users of a particular language, blogging platform, or other unique flavor, and are included for completeness only. Although his article written on November 2004, it still became one major reference until now.
Other bloggers who released its own ping service list are : Vladimir’s WordPress Ping List, Matt Garret’s How to add the best RSS sites to your WP Blog Ping list, Scott’s The Big Wordpress Ping List, and so on.
Which ones do you choose? I still haven’t made up my mind about this yet. There are too many claims on whose list is better and most comprehensive…
