Though Expression Engine (EE) isn’t well-known, this powerful platform still worth to try. EE is not only a blogging platform, it also characterized as content management system (CMS).
Beside its blogging functionality, Expression Engine incorporated modules for image galleries and a mailing list. Working on image is easier, cropping, resizing, and rotating images can be done in the internal photo gallery tool. In addition, you will be able to batch processing a set of images.
One of the advantages using EE is the ability to be search engine friendly. According to some user’s testimonies, their URLs placed well in the search engine listings. Further, EE is also flexible. Unlike most blog software limits you to title, entry, extended entry, and excerpt fields, each “new post” page in EE can be customized exactly to fit the use. Even, you can rename those to suit your publication and add more as needed.
The default templates provided is eyes friendly. They are editable online through a simple textbox interface. If you want, you can set up the system to generate files you can download and edit with an HTML editor.
It seems Expression Engine is ideal for publishers that need to do more than just blogging. This system is ideal for handling hundreds of members, multiple user groups with different editing privileges, and sites with several blogs.
Finally, choosing a blogging platform is worth to take a consideration. Expression Engine may come to the list.
