There are two contradicting myths on SEO (Search Engine Submission) subject

Myth #1:

Submitting your URLs to as many as search engine will bring in high traffic to your site.

Myth #2

It’s the opposite of Myth #1. Submission, anyhow, doesn’t work at all.

Shockingly, both statements, to some extent, are true.

The major search engines do find and index your website/blog by themselves.

The speed may vary on different search engine robot.

In spite of this, if you submit your pages following their own rules, you will also get your site crawled more intensely and deeply. There is more probability that your web/blog pages will be searchable by search engine. Thus, visible to the public as well.

On the other hand, some smaller and regional search engines prefer that you submit your website/blog and its pages instead of waiting for them to come to you.
